We have a 9 month old???

After crawling backwards and scooting sideways for the past month or so, Mattie decided to officially crawl FORWARD the day before she turned 9 months old, and perfected the movement on her actual 9 month Bday. She still hasn't gone more than 3 feet before stopping, but I'd bet she'll be all over the condo by the end of the week... time to child-proof! Watch the short clip of her "crawl" to see a wounded puppy look alike movement :) Mattie also loves pulling herself up on the coffee table and spends more time standing than she does on the floor these last few days!

So much has changed, yet so much has stayed the same...

Mattie loves sleeping on her daddy... I could't resist taking this photo today to compare w/ one from when she was just 4 weeks old. She is now almost 9 months old, and the position hasn't changed, except that she is a lot longer now :)

An afternoon at Irvine Park

We enjoyed hanging out at Irvine Park last weekend, while the weather was still nice. We had a picnic, played on the swings, and went for walk and enjoyed all that nature had to offer. Mattie loves being outside!

Was that a dinosaur I heard?

OK, so I've never actually met a dinosaur, but I think that sound is what a pterodactyl would make. My favorite is when Mattie does that over and over again in restaurants and we (I) get strange looks from people.... She really is happy when she makes that sound, but it is glass-shattering loud and not human!

Play date w/ friends

And here are three peas in a pod.... Mattie has enjoyed many play dates over winter break, inlcuding the one here, where she played w/ Tatum and Aubrey. Mattie is very sad that mommy has to go back to work next week :(

Big Bear Getaway!

Wow, what a crazy weekend! We went to Big Bear and shared a cabin w/ our close friends. We had lots of fun, other than from about 12:30AM-7AM. Mattie and Tatum both decided they weren't sure about sleeping away from home each night and wanted the whole cabin to know it! On a positive note, it was really fun taking Mattie to see the snow for the first time. Lake Arrowhead was our first stop to see the lake and shops on the way up the mountain. The next day we went sledding, as you can see, and Mattie sorta loved eating the snow, as you can see in the last picture... maybe the cold felt good on her teething gums.... Anyways, we decided to make it a tradition, but next year the kids get their own room!
